Paralegal/Legal Assistant Job Opening

Boutique law firm in Tempe seeking motivated, organized, and articulate Paralegal or experienced legal assistant to join our team.  We practice in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, business law, and family law.  We take a client-centered approach to our service, and we pride ourselves on the relationships we build with our clients.

Duties and responsibilities for this position include:

  • Warmly managing initial client intake and in-office client hospitality consistent with firm protocols
  • Answering phone calls with a smile and promptly disseminating accurate and fulsome information to appropriate people
  • Managing Attorney calendars and docketing key dates/deadlines
  • Assisting with all aspects of discovery and disclosure
  • Preparing and transmitting correspondence and client engagement agreements
  • Initial preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, notices and other court documents
  • Interacting directly with attorneys and clients to prepare initial drafts of estate planning documents
  • Interacting directly with attorneys and clients to prepare business formation documents
  • Organizing and updating electronic and physical files
  • Other tasks and related duties as requested

Knowledge and skills:

  • Prior legal experience in family law required
  • Bachelor Degree or Paralegal Certificate is strongly preferred
  • Exceptional and demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter, ability to take initiative and responsibility for own work, bias for action
  • Ability to perform long term, complex projects to full completion
  • Ability to accept and give constructive feed-back in furtherance of firm objectives
  • Type 50+ words per minute preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; experience with Worldox, Practice Master and/or NetDocs appreciated
  • Willingness to learn new programs and systems
